Photographer Hiroike teaches us the recommended spots in summer. It is a spring water places in Kamioka-cho.

Kamioka-cho is known as the town of mine town such as lead and zinc.
It has produced neutrino observatory, Super-Kamiokande, and a Nobel prize winner in physics, Mr.Koshiba, in 2002.

Kamioka has rich spring water because of Mt.Obora.There are many waterstands kept by local people. The water temperature is between 12 and 14 degrees all year around. In 1986, Funatuoborayusuigun is selected as one of 50 exquisite water in Gifu.

No 1 Gonshichi Mizuya

It has been kept for over 100 years and known as healing all diseases. It was named after Mr. Gonshichi lived near. If you cool fruit in the water, the taste will be better.

You can taste the water by the dipper.

No 2 Ushigaguchi Mizuya

It has not never stopped welling for 300 years. The name has some origins such as there was a rock looks like a cow’s back.

No 3 Yanagawa Mizuya

Hideo Aragaki, worked at Asahi Shimbun and an honorary townsman, said that this water would the most delicious in the world once. We know local people including him has used this water in their life style.

Kamioka-cho doesn’t have famous traditional buildings and old street, but we can enjoy the good old days like Showa era from the alley and mizuya.
